The Phil Swanson Trio features Phil’s work as a trombonist and pianist in a jazz trio setting. The current lineup includes Phil Swanson (trombone/piano), Steve Kirby (guitar), and Bob Neiske (bass). The trio has performed throughout New England in a wide variety of venues such as jazz clubs, concerts, special events, and workshops.

Chamber Jazz was founded in 1992 by Phil Swanson, trombone/piano, and Anthony Weller, guitar, and Mike Rossi, saxophone. The ensemble has performed throughout the Northeastern United States in concerts, jazz clubs, workshops, and private functions. The group has performed weekly at the Franklin Cafe in Gloucester MA for many years. Guest artists have included Herb Pomeroy (trumpet), Mike Rossi (sax), Billy Novick (clarinet), Steve Kirby (guitar), Thomas Hebb, Bob Neiske & Dave Landoni (bass), and the late David Sawyer (drums). A CD featuring many of these artists is anticipated for a Summer 2013 release.
Bob Neiske’s Big Wolf Band is a 10-piece band founded by bassist, composer, and Brandeis University faculty member Bob Neiske. Drawing from the wealth of jazz talent in the Boston area, the band includes faculty from Berklee College of Music, New England Conservatory, Brandies University, and Salem State University. The ensemble performs all original material and have appeared at Brandeis, Salem State, the Lily Pad in Cambridge, Amazing Things Arts Center in Framingham, and live on WGBH radio. – learn more
